How Dermalift tones and tightens thighs, buttocks, tummy and upper arms

The Dermalift

This is Annique's Dermalift Machine.

Its really a wonderful and nifty little tool that makes beauty and beauty treatments such a pleasure.

The Dermalift boats 4 treatment options:

  • Nutrition
  • Cleanse
  • Massage
  • Lifting

Over the weekend, I attempted the massage and lifting options on certain body areas using only the Annique Miracle Tissue oil as the treatment product.

Method:

  1. Firstly, I applied some tissue oil to my thighs and lower abdomen area
  2. Make sure that the product is massaged in very well, no residue.
  3. Switch on the Dermalift and select the following:
    1. Age: 25-35
    2. Treatment option: 4 Lifting

    3. Using small circular movements, rotate the Dermalift. Take care not to spend too much time on a single area.

    4. Dermalift will beep on areas where treatment is being administered. A slight tinge will be felt on skin.

    5. Total time for treatment: 4 minutes

    6. Using the same method, select option 2: Massage and complete the treatment.

    7.

           Views and reviews:

The results and impact of the treatment is not felt immediately or even while the treatment is being performed.
Within an hour or 2, I felt a significant tightening feeling on the areas I administered the treatment to. It was as if I had just done some stretching exercise.

Its been 3 days so far and I plan to continue my treatment.

Tips

Use Dermalift in conjunction with Annique Body Xpert products for better and more effective results.

Rooibos:: an alternative energy drink

for athletes taking part in endurance sporting events. Hannele Steyn-

Kotze, athlete, microbiologist and nutritionist, has tested Rooibos drinks

as an alternative with promising results.

Endurance athletes may be better off consuming inexpensive, home-made Rooibos drinks than relying exclusively on expensive, over-hyped energy products, says Hannele.

She has 25 years of experience in competitive racing including 11 Triathlon World Cups,

nine Mountain Bike World Cups, a ladies’ Cape Epic Win, numerous endurance World Championships and two more pages of achievements.

Following her 10th Cape Epic and a number of 200km one-day races, Hannele began experimenting with alternatives as she found the sugars in some energy products were not effective. Other endurance athletes she talked to related similar experiences.

Hannele says there have been many studies into exercise and nutrition, but very little has focused on how to sustain energy levels during multi-day events. “I’m not saying there aren’t some good energy products – I continue to use a very good, scientifically researched nutrition product and energy drink to supplement natural products – but not all of them work optimally for endurance athletes,” she says.

She says another concern is some are packed with sugars, vegetable fat, artificial sweeteners, flavouring agents and colorants. Consuming these on a sustained basis, particularly if you are constantly pushing your limits, isn’t a good idea. Instead of relying entirely on supplements, Hannele has gone back to basics, experimenting with natural products that are easily digested.

“I love Rooibos and it also ticked all the other boxes – it’s natural, easily digested and packed with antioxidants, so it’s really healthy. I decided to try it in training, but to concentrate the flavour, opted to use Rooibos espresso powder. I mixed it with a little bit of honey, for fast energy and milk to provide fats and protein. Viola – a tasty, healthy, natural energy drink,” she says. At Annique we will suggest athletes mix Rooibos with the Annique Lifestyle Shake.

According to Hannele, the milk can be replaced with other options such as soy, rice or nut milk, or for shorter races omitted altogether. “Diabetics can use Xylitol. Depending on how organised you are, you can mix it up and freeze it overnight or make it fresh in the morning.

There’s no risk of it going off as you should be consuming at least 500ml to 750ml of liquid an hour,” she says.

Hannele raced the eight days of the Epic and the Trans Karoo (a 240km one-day race), drinking only Rooibos mix and water and she was the first lady to finish the Trans Karoo and the seventh solo rider in a field of 250.

While Hannele acknowledges different combinations work for different people, she found that combining natural products and nutritional supplements work well for her.

Seasons Greetings 2013

Hi Everyone

Its that time of year again where we celebrate the festive season and if you are a Beauty Bulletin member I am sure you are planning to celebrate in style.

The festive season can be rough especially on women; in between cooking succulent meals for your family. hosting glamorous parties and events and always looking fabulous remember to take some time out just for you.

Its important for us women to take care of and preserve our health and beauty. After all we are the flag bearers of our families and communities.

So here are some basic pamper tips to guide you during the festive season:

Firstly, if you are planning on travelling, make sure you pack travel seize items of all your beauty essentials and nutritional supplements. These can include cleansers, moisturisers, sunblock for the beach, shampoo and conditioner as well as treatment products. The change in season can sometimes cause havoc with skin and hair so we need to be prepared. Its important to only take what you need and make sure you use it. Make up and expensive fragrances, only if you really want  to

Secondly, sneak away every so now and then for some me time. Even if it just to pause and reflect on what has happened today and to plan for tomorrow. Quiet time can do wonders for relaxation. Combine this with a lovely cup of rooibos teas and we are good to go.

Thirdly avoid the urge to nibble all the time. You know what they say: A moment on the lips and forever on the hips.. If you must snack in between meals chose a healthy option like dried fruits, fresh fruits, crackers and cheese (not too many) and cheese sticks. Drink plenty of water to stay healthy and hydrated all summer long. Take good care of your body and it will take care of you.

Fourthly, I don't know anyone that doesn't enjoy a luxurious bubble bath every now and then so please trust yourself to one. Prepare and plan a bath ritual which will include things like  scented candles, a good facial mask or scrub, a body scrub, bath salts and bubble bath and some soft music to relax you. Treating your hair to a lovely herbal hair mask is also a great idea.
Soak all your troubles away and feel refreshed and revitalised.

Lastly, do not neglect your skin. Wear sunblock when heading out into the scorching heat, make good use of your treatment products at least once a week and make sure you get plenty of rest for a healthy, glowing skin.

I would like to wish one and all a fantastic festive season filled with joy, happiness and wonderful family get tog ethers.

Looking forward to a prosperous 2014.

Lucid Travelling Trio

Lucid Ultra Hydrating Moisture

This was one of the travel size items in my lucid travelling trio set. My skin has been experiencing patterns of dryness which I really dislike. Its makes my skin looked cracked and healthy. Luckily this moisturiser came to my rescue. I applied some this morning as part of my normal skin care routine and happy to report, that is it more than 8 hour later and my skin still looks great even without make up. No dry, itchy, flaky skin, only healthy plump glowing skin.
the cream is very light and easily absorbed with no greasy or tight feeling.

Optimal Night Renew

I have been dying to try out this Lucid product ever since it was launched. The price of the full size kind of put me off a bit but now, I saw the travelling trio on special for the price of full size; I had to scoop it up to review for you.
All these products contain Rooibos extract which is a powerful antioxidant and anti-ageing product.

My review will be on the night cream.

The Lucid range is easily identifiable and packaged quite stunning; Maximum hydration is associated with this product so you clearly know what you are going to get when using it.

I proceeded to apply the night cream to my palm; a generous amount but also not too much to avoid wastage. The contents are white; almost clear but thick fluid with no distinct smell or fragrance. super!
I like to rub the product between my palms and lightly pat on my skin; this ensures maximum coverage for my entire face. Wow, its like I could feel something happening

its day 3 now and my skin looks amazingly supple, fresh and rich in moisture.

I have achieved maximum hydration which is what this product aims to deliver.

These two products are my favourite so far!

Rooibos tea prices set to rise

Johannesburg - The price of Rooibos tea will rise by 15 percent from January next year because of supply constraints and growing demand, producer Rooibos Limited said on Tuesday.
“Not only has the worldwide demand for Rooibos increased, but the harvest in 2013 was not as big as initially projected,” said company managing director Martin Bergh.
“Although production will increase during 2014, the demand will still outweigh supply and the reserve situation is becoming alarmingly low.”
Bergh said society was clearly becoming more aware of the virtues of Rooibos tea.
Bigger exports did not mean less Rooibos for South Africans, he said.
“On the contrary, the biggest growth comes from Southern Africa.”
The company did not have control over retailers and hoped that brand owners and retailers would absorb some of the costs.
“We are unsure of what effect the higher price will have on consumers and do not know what the increase in retail prices will be. We have no control over the value chain and cannot speak on behalf of the brands,” Bergh said.
