Pimples, acne, zits, breakouts, whatever you want to call these, we all know what they are and we all hate them.

Pop that pimple! Or
Look for the fastest and simplest way to remove this cosmetic embarrassment forever.
Hood on Ladies, do you really want to pop or pick your pimples?
Think back to you basic skin care principles when it comes to treating acne:
Firstly, you need to make sure the skin is properly cleansed of excess oils and dirt using a mild cleanser.
So, the question remains, should we or shouldn’t we pop our pimples?
The answer is very simple: NO! Keep your hands away from your face especially when there is acne and pimples present.
Just think of what your hands come into contact with everyday, your bare hands on your skin? Doesn’t sounds too good and skin might not respond very well to this vicious pimple popping attack? In, fact, it might cause even further breakouts or worse, scarring and blemishes which are even more difficult to get rid of.
Secondly, diet; this forms a very important aspect of skin care.
Finally, reduce bacteria and swelling using zit zapping products.
When it comes to cleansing acne prone skin, the options are endless. I prefer to keep things simple and even possibly herbal to make sure my skin gets the best.
Remember less is more. I prefer to only wash once a day, preferably in the evenings with a good and mild cleanser. Avoid over cleansing as this can cause an overstimulation of oil glands and might even cause more acne.
Your cleanser should be well suited your skin type.
For a cost effective and herbal solution, you could try any of the following:
Apple cider vinegar is a wonderful wash for problem skin to help combat oiliness. Dilute 60ml in 3 cups of water and use as a wash.
Boiled parsley can also be used as a face wash to clear up problem skin.
I have also recently discovered that boiled thyme, Rooibos and rosemary also help reduce inflammation and swelling of pimples and acne.
Your diet also plays an important role in the health of your skin. Make sure you drink plenty of water, eat plenty of fresh fruit and vegetables and avoid fatty, fried foods and refined sugars.
There are a range of herbs known as depuratives which help cleanse the body by purifying the blood and helps in turn to ensure a great and healthy looking skin. Some of which include Ginger, Lemon, Borage, Watercress and Dandelion.
Annique also stocks 2 wonderful Rooibos teas which help to cleanse the system towards ensuring an acne free skin.
